This movie takes place after the events of "Mario's Rock Band Part 3". Mario leaves home and gets lost in the forest, but Gonzo is there waiting for him. Mickey appears as the last second to save Mario's life, but he soon finds out theres much more at stake than him and Luigi's argument.
