Fun fact: the first time I came to Canada, I excitedly bought a carton of Silk soy milk, and then was horrified by what it tasted like. Not because it was bad, but because it tasted NOTHING like fresh soy milk. I was very confused...🧐 until I checked the ingredients and found it had many additives that I can only assume were added so it would NOT taste like soy milk, because they're trying to market it as a milk substitute.

If you've never experience hot, fresh soy milk, free of flavourings and thickeners, you owe it to yourself to try. You can also buy it from some Chinese grocery stores as well. In Thailand you can buy it from street vendors in the morning because it's mostly eaten as breakfast.

📣 Homemade soy milk is not hard! I used to make it regularly with my grandmother, and I find it quite relaxing to make.
