The Tartar Steppe by the Italian writer Dino Buzzati is provocative and frightening in equal measure. Reading it was a haunting and strange experience.
Dino Buzzati wrote his masterpiece in 1940 but The Tartar Steppe is a timeless classic. This novel confronts us with the humdrum of our daily lives. When are we going to stop waiting for something big to happen and start living?
