Recently a young musician named Will Schrock played my version of Andra Day’s “Rise Up” for Autism Acceptance Month. I feel really honoured that Will chose my arrangement, and he performs it wonderfully.

When I visited Will’s YouTube channel, I discovered that he also writes and sings his own original songs. I feel that awareness and acceptance ought to be a two-way street and so I thought… As Will had put the time and effort into learning one of my covers, perhaps I could, in return, learn and play one of his songs.

So… here is “The Sweetheart Lullaby” — words and music by Will Schrock.

Will — thank you for your positivity, kindness, resurgence and resilience. You truly are an inspiration. The world needs more people like you.

It’s the last day of Autism Acceptance Month today… so I have a favour to ask…
Can we please make May Autism Acceptance Month too? And June? And July? … and beyond?
