Feeling like this is a metaphor for where a lot of us are living right now. We are in a move of God.
The place many of us are in is about the 00:25 mark: we're committed to the move of God, but we're just getting a feel for how big, how powerful, how dangerous this thing is.
One of the purposes of this stage is to help us exchange our starry-eyed visions of the season in favor of a more realistic perspective. It's time to tighten our belts, shake off the distractions, and focus on the mountain that we are riding. We are living in the days of Hebrews 12:1: the great cloud of witnesses are watching us: will we make it? or will we get distracted and crash. This season may continue for longer than we're comfortable with
Another phase is coming upon us relatively quickly, and it shows up at about 00:55 mark, where the wave crests and breaks and threatens to overcome us, where we wonder if we will survive. Still we must hold course if we intend to ride this out. We will be overwhelmed. We will be beyond the help of man. We will be blinded by the force and fury of the thing we've committed ourselves to.
The vision I've had recently shows up at about 1:03: if we hold course, we will come out of the crashing, the noise, the turbulent tumult. We will survive, and we will thrive.
In hindsight, it will be said that the experience was different than we thought it would be when we signed up to be used by God in these days. It will be more terrifying, more exhilarating, more awesome than we currently have the capacity to imagine. But if we hold course, we will thrive. And we will emerge victorious.
