I just wanted to say that I can demonstrate that the Sun is closer to us than the Moon in it's own unique way. To demonstrate, let's say that I'm the Sun and you are the Moon. I as the Sun am holding a water pistol just like you are. The water from the pistols represent the temperatures that are emitted from the Sun and the Moon. The goal of the water from the pistols is to reach their target, us. Now me as the Sun has a much greater distance for my water or temperature to reach my target than you as the moon, but I do hit us with Solar rays, and the Moon's temperature does not even phase us. We can say that I, as the Sun shooter, am closer to hitting my target than you as the Moon.
