Apollo 7 was the first mission of the Apollo program to carry a crew into space. The 11 days in orbit took a toll on the astronauts.On Oct. 11, 1968, Apollo 7 launched with Commander Wally Schirra, Walt Cunningham, and Donn Eisele on board. By the second day in space, all three men were congested with head colds causing them discomfort which led to bad moods. Exhausted, uncomfortable, and frustrated the crew argued continuously with mission control all the way until the end of the mission. Unfortunately for the crew, Apollo 7 was the last mission for all three of them.
