"The Story of Empire County" was a radio series intended to promote good health and health education using a dramatic narrative. It featured the character of Dr. Walter Bell, health commissioner of the fictitious Empire County, as he dealt with the health issues and personalities in the county he served.
In this episode, Dr. Bell considers a young boy who has suddenly lost his appetite. The new parents require some guidance from a pediatrician.
Dr. Bell was played by actor Francis De Sales, and Nurse Dilworth is voiced by Bea Manley. Other characters were played by professional actors under the direction of Bob Steel. Scripts were written by Irve Tunick, who went on to write for many television series.
