Andrés Escobar was one of Colombia's most respected footballers. After scoring a tragic own goal during the 1994 World Cup, he became the target of a country grappling with the influence of cartel money, gambling, and violence. Days later, he was murdered outside a nightclub in Medellín.

More than 30 years later, his death remains one of the darkest chapters in football history.
