Mrs. Smith gave the keynote address at an event in Los Angeles called "The State of Shred" part of the Voyager Institute series of artist-driven lecture demonstrations at Resident DTLA.
Mrs. Smith's opening remarks entitled, "Shred Ain't Dead: Pre-History, First Wave, and the Second Coming of the Gods and Goddesses of the Electric Guitar" was followed by a panel featuring Nita Strauss and David Rothbaum and moderated by Bret Berg and Sean Carnage.
