Oct. 10 on The Story: We've talked quite a bit on this show about downtown Portland's remarkably slow recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic, and how that's impacted everything from office space and restaurants to the arts. We recently received some updated data on how that's going — and it's still going slowly, for the most part. But there are improvements worthy of note. Over the summer, foot traffic downtown hit a four-year high, and it's especially picked up on weekends, as people come down to see concerts, watch sports games or otherwise have a good time. For the business community, there are some good markers that things have turned a bit of a corner.
