Settling what the Gen in Gen 83 is short for! (20:56) A few people suggested "General" which makes sense in a military context, but I ruled this out because the messages talk about her being in training to be a combat engineer. For some reason I never thought to check what Gen 83 is in Japanese, and it's 第83期. 期 means a period of time, so yes, generation. Still cryptic as hell though!

I *know* Pearl is 21. I translated chunks of the second artbook too. I deliberately left her out for the sake of showing more obscure examples. Also when I've seen people question adult inklings, they generally mean ones who are old enough to be the parents of the playable Inklings.
