Bridgerton is an American historical romance television series created by Chris Van Dusen for Netflix. Based on the book series by Julia Quinn, it is Shondaland's first scripted show for Netflix. It revolves around an eponymous fictional family and is set in the competitive world of Regency era London's ton during the social season in the early 1800s, where young marriageable nobility and gentry are introduced into society. Unlike the first two seasons, which followed the order of the book series, the third season will focus on Colin, based on Quinn's fourth novel Romancing Mister Bridgerton. Jess Brownell will replace Van Dusen as writer and showrunner for the third and fourth seasons.
