The SP-404MKII Sequencer Trick That Saved my Live Set!
While building my new SP-404MKII live set I came up against a problem. I couldn't start the sequencer with an external MIDI controller. As someone who plays multiple instruments at the same, I need to be able to queue up patterns to change beforehand, so I can play live instruments over the top of them. Now, thanks to this sequencer trick, I can! Simply sequence a 1 bar pattern with an empty sample. This will not only start the sequencer, it also gets the click playing in your ears, getting you ready to play. All I have to do is send a program change via external MIDI and I'm ready to start the song! Enjoy the video :)
