SERIES STARTS NOVEMBER 1st 2019
Not many composers even approach Matt Furniss when it comes to the quality and quantity of his Mega Drive/Genesis soundtracks. Some of the system's biggest and most memorable titles owe their audio to Matt's skilled use of the hardware available. Thanks to his rich drum sounds, thick basses and clever use of FM synthesis, Matt's music is still widely admired today.
In The Sound Test's second season, Matt presents several of his thoughts on the audio of Sega systems, including the Genesis and Master System. In addition, he'll also be showing up on episodes about the Amiga and SNES, sharing his opinions on the differing platforms and insight into their workings.
Music used:
Theme 7 by Matt Furniss [Bill's Tomato Game]

![ST2 - #15 - LucasArts: iMUSE (w/George Sanger, Clint Bajakian & Peter McConnell) [INTERVIEW/PODCAST]
This final part of my LucasArts trilogy takes an in-depth look at the innovative iMUSE system. iMUSE was instrumental to the development of dynamic and interactive music through the 90s, and I welcome back Peter McConnell and Clint Bajakian to discuss its impact. Im also pleased to present more insight from the incomparable George Sanger, who wrote dynamic soundtracks for games like Capture the Flag and Wing Commander (before the creation of iMUSE). Along the way, all three guests take an extended look at PC sound chips, and how they evolved across the digital audio revolution.
Im very pleased to present this jam-packed conclusion to a long and rewarding series of LucasArts podcasts. Its been some time in the making, but Im back! Expect more Sound Test documentaries in the future, including further insight from George and Clint. My next episode will concentrate on the music of thatgamecompany, with their principle composers - Vincent Diamante and Austin Wintory.

![THE SOUND TEST #05 - The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth (w/RIDICULON) [COMPOSER INTERVIEW / PODCAST]
This second part of The Binding of Isaacs musical story moves into its remake, Rebirth. This version of the game received a makeover in practically every area, including music. Its new soundtrack by RIDICULON took a different path to Danny Baranowskys, but hit the nail on the head in brand new ways. Here, both Jon Evans and Matthias Bossi go into detail about their approach.

![THE SOUND TEST #15 - Super Meat Boy 5th Anniversary (w/RIDICULON) [COMPOSER INTERVIEW / PODCAST]
When Super Meat Boy hit its fifth anniversary, and saw new ports for fresh consoles, the decision was made to give it a musical respray. After Danny Baranowsky, who wrote the games original OST, and Team Meat had parted ways, RIDICULON became the obvious choice for the job. Along with David Scattle Scatliffe and Laura Shigihara, the four composed music that stood on its own and reinterpreted the tone of gameplay. Here, Jon Evans and Matthias Bossi (who together form RIDICULON) join me to discuss Super Meat Boys 5th Anniversary soundtrack.
This episode follows up last weeks, which features Danny Baranowskys perspective on his original SMB score.

![THE SOUND TEST #11 - GoldenEye 007 (w/Grant Kirkhope) [COMPOSER INTERVIEW / PODCAST]
As the N64s third bestselling title, GoldenEye 007 needs no introduction. Its probably the most influential first-person shooter of all time, and still shows up in lists covering the best of its genre. The games music sails through famous Bond themes and motifs with a cool, electronic edge suited to every step of spy work. A collaborative effort between Grant Kirkhope, Graeme Norgate and Robin Beanland, GoldenEye 007s soundtrack was one of the first to show the new capabilities of the N64. Unfortunately, I was unable to schedule interviews with Graeme or Robin, but Grants back on The Sound Test to offer more of his insight!
