In this episode we interview Dr. P. David Polly, the President of the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology, and a Professor in Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at Indiana University.

Dr. Polly discusses his career and education and his role as the President of the SVP. We also discuss the role that the Society plays in the study and advancement of paleontology, and the ongoing situation with the current administrations plans to reduce the size of the Grand Staircase-Escalante and Bears Ears National Monuments in Utah. These lands are one of the richest fossil beds in Utah and have revealed an incredible number of new species. The loss of these areas will have a devastating impact on the science of Paleontology.
