Everybody has those tiny, insignificant things that shouldn’t bother them nearly as much as they do—but somehow, they always let it happen.
One topic in one of Spiegel's 'Lunatic in the Newsroom' episodes was “small hills to die on,” starting with Spiegel’s hatred of certain words and the completely unnecessary mountain of decorative pillows people pile onto beds and couches. Sure, they might look nice—but where are you supposed to put all of them when it’s actually time to sleep?
Justin and Scott provide a couple of highly specific, but valid annoyances: Don’t grab someone’s phone when they’re showing you a picture. Don’t slowly walk while staring at your phone. And PLEASE don’t stop directly in the middle of a doorway or crowded walkway.
They’re petty. They’re insignificant. And somehow, they’re important enough to defend with everything you’ve got.
