The pickpocket skill in Skyrim was not needed! In Morrowind & Oblivion, Pickpocketing was a game feature but didn't have its own skill. After Oblivion, some skills like acrobatics & hand-to-hand were stripped, but pickpocket (not seen since Daggerfall) was added back in. We think there's not the strongest case for it needing to be its own skill in Skyrim, and that it could easily be merged with sneak or a 'security' skill (with lockpicking).
