--- SPOILERS for the movie Patema Inverted. It's a great movie~

Patema Inverted is about the princess of a group of people that live underground. At the start of the movie it’s suggested that they’re the last of human civilization. Patema likes to explore underground and go to places she’s not allowed. One day, she falls down a cavern and finds herself on the planet’s surface. There she meets Age, a boy who is standing on the ceiling. That’s when she learns that her people’s gravity was reversed years ago during a terrible incident that destroyed the world. She is one of the Inverted and is in constant danger of falling into the sky.

I knew nothing about this movie when I started watching it. The summary was very vague. But when I found out it was about reversal of gravity – I got so excited! Immediately I was saying “It’s Upside Down in anime form!!” Which if you don’t know what Upside Down is, it’s a movie from last year (on Netflix) about two worlds that lie parallel to each other and have opposite gravity.
Patema Inverted is better than that movie. It’s REALLY good and it realistically shows the concept of reversed gravity. The whole movie is pretty much themed around falling, and how dangerous it is to have reversed gravity. Patema has to completely entrust her life to Age. If he drops her, she’ll fall into the sky.
It sounds pretty awesome doesn’t it? That’s because it is. I was blown away by this movie. I didn’t think it would be anything special but it really took me by surprise. And the pairing is so cute! The writers really did well with this movie and more than once I had to figure out what was going on because things got complex! I also appreciated the use of camera movement in this movie. I feel like it’s a relatively new thing to use camera movement in anime…

I bet this video looks kind of strange if you don’t know what it’s about. It does take a little bit to get used to Patema being upside down ;D And maybe you’re someone who’s never heard of this movie and is now mad at me for spoiling it (I did give you warning…) But although I wanted to show as much story as I could…I don’t think I spoiled it completely. It’s the kind of movie you have to watch to really understand what’s going on. Watch it anyway. I think you’ll still be surprised at some things, and it’s so good!
I highly recommend this movie, especially to people who like adventurous stories. People who like pairings will like it too.

Editing Comments:
So after watching, I of course had to edit something to it. It took me a while to decide on a song. I have been waiting to use this song for a long time. xD I never had the right footage! I don’t know if this movie is the perfect footage, but it works. I really enjoyed using this song, to the point that I may have made the video too long ;p People should use this song more! It’s beautiful.
Also, there are like NO videos of Patema Inverted! O-o Oh excuse me. I think there’s three. =.= So here is my installment to the tiny collection! Editors should watch it and make videos. ^^ I see other movies that aren’t as good with plenty of videos. That aint cool.
At first I felt like I was being lazy with this video and was worried it would look horrible. But I’m pretty proud of how it’s turned out. ^^
GO WATCH THIS MOVIE. A good place is the site KissAnime. Or you could wait for it to come out in the U.S. (which I think is this fall! xD)
