From The Sims Wikia: "(...) If the Sim has a low Neat score, they will burp loudly after drinking. Occasionally, the vending machine would become "stuck" while a Sim was using it. Sims with a low Nice score will automatically kick the machine, and the player can manually direct Sims to kick a stuck machine. This will not damage the machine, and the machine will not fall on the Sim. After a few kicks, the machine will eventually dispense a drink, and the Sim will drink as usual."
