$How to Manufacture Blended Fruit Smoothies and Beverages A smoothie is made by blending raw fruits or vegetables with water, fruit juice or milk. It may also contain other ingredients such as grains, herbs or proteins. When it comes to making smoothies, most of us are familiar with traditional kitchen blenders, but there is no production scale equivalent. If you’re looking to produce smoothies on a larger scale you may think you need several different pieces of processing equipment for chopping and pureeing the ingredients, but with a Silverson mixer you can manufacture smoothies in a single step, whatever the liquid base of your product. Silverson offers versatile mixing equipment that can handle the entire process, rapidly disintegrating large solids down to their desired consistency. We have developed a blending plant for this application. It consists of a specially adapted Bottom Entry mixer working in conjunction with a High Shear In-Line mixer.
