Shpongle - Levitation Nation
Shpongle.
An amazing band / musical project that I’ve been a fan of for over 20 years. Yet I’ve never used their music for my fractals. Until now.
This little fractal trilogy is an homage to the profoundly original and swinging music of Shpongle.
Part 3 is a bit of a compilation – The original version of the song Levitation Nation was called Beija Flor, which means hummingbird in Portuguese. I tried to create a fractal bird and flower-like dance.
The clouds you see in this part are shot by me in Tulum.

My trip through the Rhine Valley in Germany and the Morvan in France turned into a spiritual journey about death and loss through what appears to be Middle-Earth.
I combined Mandelbulb3D fractals with photogrammetry captures from scenery that I encountered.

Fractalicous 10 marks a decade since I published my first Fractal film on the internet. And what a decade it has been!
First of all, the community response has been overwhelming, warm and extremely encouraging. This has been the primary motivation for me to keep going into the depths in stead of staying at the surface. This meant that four years in I decided to quit my day job at a VFX house and for the last six of those years I’ve had the opportunity to live and breathe fractal art.
