Ever needed to send a Winlink message over RF but had no idea which packet gateway was closest to you? In this quick demo I show how APRSLink can locate the nearest Winlink capable packet gateways using nothing more than your last APRS beacon position. Then I take that gateway information straight into WoAD, Winlink on Android, to make the connection and pass a real Winlink message, all in under 3 minutes.
This is a huge time saver for EmComm operators, SOTA and POTA activators, and anyone doing off grid or portable ham radio operations who doesn't want to memorize a gateway list or guess which frequency to try. If your APRS beacon is already transmitting, APRSLink can do the searching for you.
