Maya's about to be christened Master of Kurain in a series of ceremonies that has been hotly anticipated for a long time. Everything's set up and some familiar faces from Khura'in have even arrived to take part! But things don't go as smoothly as planned. In the eerie glow of a bright red moon, screams are heard the night Maya enters the Summoning Chamber overnight as per tradition. And the horrific scene they find in the Summoning Chamber the next morning kicks off a series of events that change Phoenix and his loved ones' lives forever as he takes on what might be the most personal and emotionally intense case of his career thus far.
