The Home Bartender is back so let's get shaking! This week: The SEPARATIST GIMLET!
This is Zen in a cocktail coupe! Only 4 ingredients and all are sparse except for one..the gin. The gin is the star, so try different kinds of gin and focus on the subtleties, and nuisance of each gin. Starting off with Hendrick's Gin is the way to go. It's botanical charm and smooth profile make it perfect for the Separatist Gimlet! Absinthe wash, Velvet Falernum & grapefruit bitters...that's it. But what a cocktail! Served very cold, in a chilled coupe, this simple but memorable cocktail will be the one you're talking about for weeks after you try it. Chill that coupe...and lets get shaking!
