Very few people believe that unknown animals can exist. However the biodiversity of our Planet is considerable. Scientists evaluate the number of Animal species in the range of 10 to 60 millions.. Each year, between 5000 and 8000 new species are registered.
The Saola, a wild goat/antelope of the Vietnamese Highlands was discovered only in 1992 and there are many examples of such species unknown by the scientific community until recent times.
This gave birth to cryptozoology, the science of unknown animals, created by zoologist Bernard Heuvelmans in the 50’s. On the basis of clues and reports of local populations of remote areas of the world, it estimates that approximately 150 unknown big animals could exist without being discovered up to now.
From that point on, anything is possible. Why the existence of mythical monsters such as the Bigfoot, the Yeti or Nessie wouldn’t be possibility to be scientifically studied.
