From Australia’s southwest coast comes the tale of a sea lion pup and the unique animals that share its rugged home. The sea lion's life spans two worlds, born on the rocky shore but dependent on the ocean for food. On the land, he comes under threat from his own kind with only his mother to protect him. In the sea, he faces two terrifying dangers, Great White Sharks and humans. For the first 18 months of his life, his mother will feed and protect him, an extraordinarily long period of time for a sea lion. Most types of seals will provide maternal care for their offspring for only 12 months. She will use the extra time to teach him foraging techniques and where to find food.
Journey with this Australian Sea Lion as he grows from a tiny pup completely reliant on his mother to a fully grown adult searching for his own breeding territory.
