The Scourge are showing up again in Midnight's build-up, but not in the way Warcraft usually frames them. In Deatholme, Lazaar Baneshadow and Twilight's Blade are using Void necromancy to raise something that looks like the Scourge, even though old lore says Death-claimed flesh should be almost impossible for the Void to grip.
That takes us from Eversong propaganda to Saronite, Icecrown, Three Sisters, Calia and Sin'dane, Light's Hope, Vorath, and the state of Northrend before The Last Titan. Are these really Scourge? Is Xal'atath testing a new kind of necromancy? Or is the real danger that the old Scourge never went away?
