Not many cars can be credited with funding the purchase of an entire car company, but Renault’s President said they couldn’t have purchased Nissan in the late 1990s without the success of the Renault Scénic. It was a bold, innovative design, making clever reuse of parts to reduce the risk of failure on a car that was depending on your point of view either defining a brand-new category, or joining an existing category of cars that had never been a success! The shape of the first, second and third generation of Scénic were presided over by Patrick le Quément. He’s been very kind, again, to sit down and tell us the inside story of the car that kicked off the MPV boom in the late 1990s. So, join me and Patrick as we delve into the Renault Scénic Story.
