We finally made the trip to the legendary Salt Lick BBQ in Driftwood, Texas in March 2026 and it did NOT disappoint! From the massive restaurant with multiple cozy dining rooms to the gorgeous outdoor spaces perfect for hanging out or picnicking, the whole property feels like a Texas BBQ dream.
We shared the famous Thurman’s Choice Plate (brisket, pork ribs & sausage) plus the Bison & Beef Ribs Plate — everything was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The sides (creamy coleslaw, smoky beans, and potato salad) were perfect, and we saved room for their incredible warm peach cobbler for dessert.
After eating we strolled around the shaded grounds, relaxing under the trees. Hands-down one of the best BBQ experiences we’ve ever had. Can’t wait to go back!
