In a letter to Gareth Southgate and the England squad, King Charles has urged the team to "hold your heads high" in a letter following their defeat to Spain in Euro 2024 final.

He also said reaching the final was a "really great achievement in itself" and the team should look to "the many triumphs which I have no doubt lie ahead".

Prince William attended the final in Berlin with Prince George and were both joined by Felipe VI, King of Spain and his daughter, Princess Sofia of Spain.
