The Roulette Tapes is a monthly podcast combining artist interviews and concert excerpts that offers a window into experimental music performed and recorded at Roulette. Produced by Roulette co-founder and archivist David Weinstein and radio veteran Susan James, the collection is a 2021 Webby Honoree in Music. The musical works of drummer, percussionist, and instrument builder Kenny Wollesen and his Wollesonic project. We'll hear excerpts from two multimedia, theatrical, large ensemble pieces recorded at Roulette in 2006 and 2008 plus his contribution to a trio led by pianist/composer Sylvie Courvoisier with bassist Drew Gress. Wollesonic is a band, a laboratory, a record label, an archive, and a collection of hundreds of hand-made "noise" instruments. Featuring the artist's commentary and an amazing story about his grandmother's music which Wollesen debuts at The Stone in Manhattan on August 20-23, 2025

Roulette is an internationally recognized performing arts venue and presenter of experimental music, movement, and media in Downtown Brooklyn. Originally founded in 1978 by a group of artists in a Tribeca loft in NYC, Roulette’s mission is to support artists creating new and adventurous art in all disciplines by providing them with a venue and resources to realize their creative visions and to build an audience interested in the evolution of experimental art.
