This is a visual tribute to Appomattox using the Library of Congress images of painted Civil War battles scenes along with photos and drawings leading up to the end of the war. There are images of Joshua Chamberlain and John B. Gordon the two men in charge of Formal Surrender on April 12th, 1865. Then end with the LOC images from the Liljenquist Family Collection of some soldiers who fought the war.
