VIDEO INFO: The Stones were never big on rehearsals pre recording-sessions so they have a bunch of tunes that sounded pretty ordinary or even ropey on the original LP but matured, sometimes decades later into finely-sculptured beasts.
It may well be that they had decided far earlier than contemporaries that albums (of which they shifted comparatively few) were merely a tool to sell concert tickets (of which they outsell everyone) rather than the other way round so, they arrived at the ‘Licks’ World Tour ostensibly promoting a Greatest Hits CD and indeed their 40th anniversary.
This performance was included on from the ‘Arena’ disc of the ‘Four Flicks’ box set that was filmed 18 January 2003 at Madison Square Garden, since upgraded to ‘Live Licked in NYC’ CD/Blu-Ray package, June 2022, from which this has been liberated.

Headlined by the Stones at Downsview Park on 30 July 2003 (this footage is from the DVD released the following year) it marked the tragic death of 8,000 people worldwide who had contracted something called Coronavirus!
