This is a video I put together while I have a cold. I can't talk without coughing or sneezing, so this is going to have to be another SILENT movie. Unfortunately, if you want to hear what I have to say on this subject, you are going to have to do some reading. Just pause the video if you don't have enough time to read each slide.
It seems that Robitaille et al have a strange idea of what universality means and so I really feel the need to clear this up. Universality is NOT about Boltzmann's Constant and Planck's Constant. Universaity does not claim that every material is a perfect absorber or a perfect emitter. Blackbody radiation and universality are about thermal equilibrium of a system... any system... no matter what material you are using.
No material in the Universe is a perfect absorber, nor is there a such thing as a perfect emitter. All materials are CAPABLE of reaching thermal equilibrium GIVEN ENOUGH TIME. Universality is about equilibrium states no matter how long it takes to reach this state.
I will be making a better video on this in the future, so you think think of this as a TEASER video and not a final product.
