The story can be read as a political fable for our times, set among monkeys in tropical lands, or simply as a family adventure.
From the book:
A mother’s struggle to keep her children safe in unsettled and dangerous times, while she thinks her husband is away exploring for a new home. It describes their hurried escape from a disintegrating colony in crisis and their journey with an eccentric band of helpers to find sanctuary.
Nothing is as it seems in the family or the colony. A tale of deceit, greed and betrayal, but also a hopeful story of kindness, loyalty and a serious attempt to live together wisely with others.
In this introductory episode, we meet the main characters and set the scene before beginning the story.
