A trick chapter. By trick I mean the game is tricking the player like it's April 1st.
First, we have a flashback that has absolutely nothing to do with the chapter, other than the ending cutscenes, which is also not in relation to the chapter itself. Then we have the pre-battle prep where we don't see the NPCs and the recruitable thief, so you can't really prepare for that missing stuff unless this is not your first playthrough.
On the 2nd turn, the thief Marris appears, and the map design is made in a way that the player can be tricked into thinking the stair tile near the chest is her escape path. Either you will be tricked into rushing in for no reason, or you can just give up on recruiting her or getting the items, and then realize that you can just take your time and still get them later on.
Next, the civilian with no prior screentime. I was tricked into thinking Cornelius is his name until Gracia talked about her leg to the enemy guard. Come on, at least tell me about him if he's gonna be placed in this chapter rather than the unrelated flashback.
Oh, I haven't talked about the gameplay yet. It's the same as usual, just advance normally and that's about it. Canto does help a lot here.

I think Buck will promote next chapter. Kinda weird that my first promotion is going to be an archer.
