We went back to the exact spot in the Chattahoochee River where we just found a pistol in a holster (which we turned over to the police). The plan was to search the bedrock cracks for more clues... but we never expected the river to give up a massive 150-year-old Civil War relic.
The dive started small with old coins, hand-blown bottles, and musket balls jammed in the rocks. Then, my metal detector hit a huge signal, and we pulled up something MUCH heavier.
What we recovered underwater this time:
• A 150-year-old heavy iron Civil War artifact (Watch us field-clean it on site!)
• 100+ old coins, tokens, and lead pieces fused in clumps
• A rare hand-blown straight-sided Coca-Cola bottle
• Vintage bottles, a candlestick phone receiver, and a mysterious small Buddha statue
• ...and the massive historical relic that we are now sending off for electrolysis!
