Ahmed Johnson looked like he was going to be one of the WWF’s next major stars during the New Generation era. He had the size, the intensity, the crowd reaction, and for a short time, it really seemed like Vince McMahon had found another powerhouse babyface who could be pushed all the way to the top.
After debuting in 1995, Ahmed quickly made an impact by body-slamming Yokozuna, surviving at Survivor Series, winning the Kuwait Cup, and defeating Goldust at King of the Ring 1996 to become the first African-American Intercontinental Champion in WWF history.
