We look at the rise of air rage which has doubled since 2019. We also report on some cases and the massive fines imposed.

Data from the International Air Transport Association shows that:

In 2021, there was 1 unruly passenger incident per 835 flights
In 2022, this rose to 1 per 568 flights
By 2023, it reached 1 per 480 flights

So put a number on that, there were 37 million commercial flights so there were 77,083 cases of air rage.

This represents a clear upward trajectory, indicating that incidents are becoming more frequent over time.
