Pirkkala educational pilot program. The sources give completely warped anti-communist analysis, but the program was one example of the how Finnish educators looked to socialist countries (Eastern Europe, USSR and China) for models. The anti-communist lies against this program are entirely the work of one capitalist historian J. Leskinen.

Most Finnish schools are old (built in the 50s). Since the 90s the repairs and maintenance have been totally neglected "to save money" which had led to the schools becoming rundown, dilapidated and infested with poisonous fungi & mold. The true number is unknown but as many as 20% of Finnish schools might have dangerous mold infestations which results in renovation that costs millions, or the school being demolished. So much for "saving money".

Due to cuts to spending, it is now common for the school to only spend 70-80 cents on lunches to students! Such food cannot be adequate.

In one school they only spend on average 64 cents for lunches

Some discussion of incompetent or unqualified teachers. The problem in real life is worse then in statistics. We all know its common to hire teachers without degrees and label them "substitutes" even if they remain for a year or many years.

UP TO HALF OF REMAINING PRIMARY SCHOOLS WILL BE CLOSED IN THE NEXT 20 YEARS. I wish I knew how many were closed before this but the number must be high.

Due to lack of class rooms many classes have been combined into "giant classes" of as many as 100 students IN ONE ROOM. Such class rooms also have 2 or 3 teachers, but sometimes due to lack of teachers many classes of 20 students have been combined to classes of 40 or 60 with only 1 or 2 teachers. This is the real cause of the education crisis!
