This episode might feel a little slower than the other ones but it's in fact a central one in my opinion : it's focusing on the main subject of everything, the rings, and with one major moment, the dwarves beginning to use the rings, one understanding the darkness going with it, Celebrimbor having doubts about continuing and how Sauron convinced him to continue no matter what and create the men rings. And it's not by talking about the shadows destroying Middle-Earth, all men suffering or even when members of his group got hurt because he didn't help them. No, it's when Sauron talked about Celebrimbor's responsibility in everything, talked about just his own little person, that he accepted. Officially to redeem the dwarves' rings, but in fact clearly to redeem himself.
I'm so proud of Durin for facing his dad and telling him he's wrong to use the ring, even if this one saw it functioning and revealing him where to search for the light. He saw his dad changing so fast, offering that deal of giving the other rings but in exchange of parts on the mines, and not listening that by mining deeper they would wake up a terrible danger. Durin had his dad finally saying he was wrong all of this time, he's proud of him, he needs him, he's gonna give him his place as a prince again… but Durin refused. I'm SO proud. What is happening right now in Numenor is awful but predictable. I clearly hated for Valandil's character to end like that…
