Note:
- Notable protest or clash includes one of either at least 50,000 people or one where notable violence or major events occurred. Smaller protests were happening all over East Germany.
- Notable foreign bases includes military bases, air force bases, major barracks, manned missile sites, and most training camps. It does NOT include resident villages, military post offices, or most ammo depots. It also excludes bases owned by Germany but still stationing some allied troops.
