Welcome to a story of war, love and vengeance. Ulysses returns to Ithaca after fighting in the Trojan Wars expecting a hero’s welcome, but what greets him are shifted loyalties and a fractured homeland.

Following the success of Orfeo, The Royal Opera and the Roundhouse collaborate again for the first in-the-round staging of Monteverdi’s opera The Return of Ulysses.

John Fulljames directs, bringing contemporary resonance to this great Greek legend.

40 singers from Roundhouse and Royal Opera House local communities will be given the opportunity to perform on our iconic stage alongside professional opera singers
