As teachers, we know the hallway between classes can feel like controlled chaos. So I decided to bring some playfulness to it. Armed with a thrift-store VCR remote, I “fast forward,” “rewind,” or “pause” students as they head to class. It’s fun, it connects me with even the most introverted kids, and best of all—it helps them get to class on time.
If you’re looking for small, joyful ways to connect with students and keep the day moving, this is one you’ll want to try.
