Shark! "The Reef" is an Australian horror film by writer & director Andrew Traucki, starring Damian Walshe-Howling, Gyton Grantley, Adrienne Pickering, Zoe Naylor, and Kieran Darcy-Smith, about a group of sexy young Aussies who take a trip on a luxury yacht, only to have it sink in the middle of the ocean. With a relentless great white shark pursuing them and killing them off one-by-one, they make a desperate swim to a nearby reef.
This terrifying and superbly well-made thriller is genuinely scary, and the shark attack scenes are shockingly realistic. This film is second only to Jaws, in my opinion - although there is admittedly a HUGE gap between the two films in terms of cinematic excellence.
But if you like great white sharks attacking swimmers, then you can't go wrong with this Aussie gem.
