The title is not a joke or clickbait. This recipe was just about the end of me. I am allergic to chocolate but it has never been terribly bad, until now. After a couple of very rough days I'm back and vow to never touch chocolate ever again! That doesn't mean you can't enjoy this great recipe though. Enjoy!
Chocolate Chunk Cookie Bars Recipe:
2 1/4 cups AP Flour
2 1/4 sticks Butter
1 cup Dark Brown Sugar
3/4 cups Granulated Sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Baking Soda
2 tsp Vanilla Extract
1 1/2 King Size Chocolate Bars, rough chopped
1/2 cup chopped Toasted Walnuts
1. Let 2 1/4 sticks of salted butter and 2eggs come up to room temperature
Preheat oven to 350f/180c and place your rack in the middle of the oven
2. Cream the softened butter and sugar together until nice and smooth
3. Add the 2 eggs, beaten to the creamed sugar and once incorporated add the vanilla extract
4. Slowly add the flour, salt and baking soda and mix just until fully combined. Let sit for 10 minutes
5. Chop the walnuts and chocolate bars and add that to the cookie dough, mix just until combined
6. Grease a 13x9 cake pan and add the cookie dough to the pan. Spread out evenly and back for 26-30 minutes. Do not over bake but make sure the center is set and not jiggly. Let cool and slice into bars. Enjoy!
