The Bike Sauce | The Rear Derailleur EXPLAINER @TheBikeSauce | Uploaded February 2024 | Updated October 2024, 3 hours ago.
The modern rear derailleur is a marvel of mechanical engineering. Short cage, medium cage, long cage? SG, SGS? Max cog size? Drivetrain capacity? Total capacity? Lots of confusion on what will work with what, especially when tinkering with mullet 1x setups and wide ranging 2x setups.

This video attempts to sort some of it out.
