During episode 3 we finally got an explanation on why kinger loves bugs, and it makes his earlier scenes alot cuter. Let me explain.

So during episode 1 kinger mentions an insect collection twice, and also bows when infront of the gloink queen to show respect.

In episode 2 he gets distracted by a candy butterfly remarking how beautiful it is.

In episode 3 we finally found out why. His wife queenie was obsessed with Entomology which is the study of bugs and insects. Kinger hated bugs originally, but from spending time with his wife and her collection he began to appreciate them. The fact that he still loves insects means that they remind him of her which is sad but adorable.
