A remix of Alan Parsons Project's "The Raven" (1976)
using samples of Craig Huxley playing the Blaster Beam from Jerry Goldsmith's "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" score (1979)

The 2012 re-release of "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" (c) La-La Land Records

I make no claim to the composition or recordings, just having a bit of fun. The Beam is best when used sparingly. It's very much a kind of Lovecraftian musical exclamation point. It shouldn't take over the song. The song is kind of gothic as it is; the remix should add to that, not detract from it. The beam should be doing its own thing, not doing something that an electric guitar could play just as well.
